Why Water Signs Have the Best Tattoos
Statistically, Cancers, Scorpios and Pisces make the best tattoo decisions
Something that I’ve picked up on in the years I’ve written about astrology and tattoos is that water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) are absolutely killing it. The other signs? They need to start stepping it up.
For anyone who’s familiar with astrology and the characteristics of each of the signs, this information shouldn’t surprise you. The twelve signs of the zodiac are broken up into four elements: fire, earth, air and water. These elements all carry similar traits and can tell you a lot about a person’s overall being. Water signs are known for being emotional, creative, imaginative and perceptive—which has led many famous water signs to some pretty impressive tattoo collections.
There are a number of famous water signs that have above average or excellent tattoo collections. Among Cancers, you have Ariana Grande, Post Malone and Selena Gomez. Celebrity Scorpios include Jeffree Star, Pewdiepie, Drake and Odell Beckham Jr. And then there’s Pisces, which has Adam Levine, Rihanna and Justin Bieber. Sure, not all of these tattoos have the best collections out there, but each and every one of them has supported quality artists along the way. Many of these water signs have visited top notch tattooers for their work, including Kat Von D, Bang Bang and Inal Bersekov.
Comparibly, the other signs don’t fare as favorable. Most of all, fire signs, whose celebrities have some of the worst collections we’ve seen in Hollywood. Famous fire signs include Logan Paul (Aries), Lil Pump (Leo) and the Dolan Twins (Sagittarius), all of whom have been known to get tattoos somewhat impulsively. This is fitting with the characteristics of fire signs, who are known for being flighty, impatient, passionate and over-the-top. Of course, there are some exceptions to the rule, including Lady Gaga (Aries), Demi Lovato (Leo) and Miley Cyrus (Sagiattarius), who under most circumstances have all gone to talented tattooers around the world.
Famous air signs are a toss up, landing on both sides of the spectrum of good or bad tattoos. As their celebrity leaders would suggest, Air signs are known to have a mix of questionable and acceptable ink—notably Johnny Depp (Gemini), Angelina Jolie (Gemini), Kanye West (Gemini), Cardi B (Libra), Eminem (Libra), Halsey (Libra), Xxxtentacion (Aquarius), Harry Styles (Aquarius) and Ed Sheeran (Aquarius). They don’t typically make the spontaneous decisions that fire signs are known to do, however, their indecisive and judicial nature often leads them astray—with many of these stars rocking name tattoos for significant others.
But what about earth signs? Well, overall, they’re not known to be a particurally tattooed bunch. However, from what we’ve collected, they either make really good choices overall or have some of the worst collections we’ve ever seen. Honestly, as an earth sign myself, I wish we could forget about all the Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn celebrities that drag our name through the mud. Earth signs that are killing the tattoo game include The Rock (Taurus) and Liam Payne (Virgo), but those who bring us down are 6ix9ine (Taurus), Chris Brown (Taurus), Lil Xan (Virgo), Jake Paul (Capricorn) and Zayn Malik (Capricorn). Come on guys, we’re supposed to be the ones who’ve got their act together!
While it’s impossible to know how regular tattoo enthusiasts fair according to their signs, celebrities give us a pretty good indication which element shines and which ones let us down. What do you think about our findings? Do you think they’re accurate? Let us know your thoughts on this story on social media.
