Celebrate Chinese New Year with 20 Year of the Rat Tattoos
What's your Chinese zodiac?
According to the Chinese zodiac, 2020 is the year of the rat. In astrology, the rat symbolizes fortune and surplus, with many Chinese parents praying to them for children. People born during the year of the rat are thought to be energetic, optimistic and empathic, however, they don’t excel in areas of communication. Past years of the rat include 2008, 1996, 1984, 1972, 1960 and 1948. People born during the year of the rat are thought to be most compatible with ox, dragon and monkey, whereas they are least compatible with horse, goat and rabbit.
In honor of the upcoming year of the rat, which officially begins on January 25th, we’ve curated 20 of our favorite rat tattoos from talented tattoo artists around the world.
