She’ll Put the Bite on You!
Batwoman is back and she is at the very least gender fluid! That’s right and the word around Hollywood is that the new Bat Woman will be played by the 32-year-old actress Ruby Rose (Langenheim) better known just as Ruby Rose, is an Australian model, DJ, recording artist, actress, television presenter, and former MTV VJ. Rose emerged in the media spotlight as a presenter on MTV Australia, followed by several high-profile modelling gigs, notably as the face of Maybelline New York in Australia. In addition to her modelling career, she has co-hosted various television shows in Australia.
Rose pursued a serious acting career starting in 2008 and broke big here in the United States when she landed a starring role in seasons three and four of the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. She has also had large roles in the action films Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016), xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017), and John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017), and the musical comedy Pitch Perfect 3 (2017).
Rose Rose came out as a lesbian at the age of 12. Because of her sexuality, she suffered verbal taunts and physical abuse from her schoolmates, which led to a suicide attempt. She was also sexually abused as a child by a relative, and has bipolar disorder and clinical depression.

With regard to childhood gender nonconformity, Rose said she wanted to be a boy while growing up and that she was saving up money to physically transition from female to male.
On to happier times for the lovely Miss Rose. Like right now!
The CW network has cast Ruby Rose to play Kate Kane a.k.a. Batwoman. The character will be introduced in the network’s annual DC crossover event this winter, plus the network is also developing a stand-alone series around the character.
If the Batwoman series is picked up, the openly gay Rose — who identifies as gender fluid — will be at the forefront of a TV series focusing on an LGBT superhero. “Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence,” reads the official logline. “But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”
