These Fruit Tattoos are Juicy
From peaches to pears, apples to avocados and limes to lemons
May 13th is National Fruit Cocktail Day, an homage to your favorite (or least favorite) childhood dessert. Were you the kid who traded your apple for a delicious fruit cocktail? Yeah, me neither. But, we can’t help but acknowledge that fruits in general are pretty delicious. I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like at least one fruit, as there are dozens to choose from. Whether you prefer apples to oranges, peaches to plums or bananas to watermelon, there’s a fruit out there for everyone. Plus, while you had to choke down your vegetables at dinner, fruits are like nature’s candy—or at least that’s what my mother told me.
There are tons of types of fruit and some that you’d be surprised belong to this family. For example, did you know that avocados and olives are both fruits? And while a tomato is technically in the fruit family, most nutritionists would call it a vegetable based on its nutrients.
Plus, many of your favorite fruits have hundreds of unique variants. For example, there are 400 types of oranges grown around the world. And bananas? Well, you might be surprised to learn that there are 1,000 different species world wide. And don’t even get me started on apples. Believe it or not, there are 7,500 variants of apples grown across the globe. That means you could try a new apple every day for the next 20.5 years!
In honor of National Fruit Cocktail Day we’ve created a fruit cocktail of our own with bright, bold and of course, colorful tattoos. Take a peek at the tasty tattoos in the gallery below, then let us know your thoughts on this story in the comments section on social media.

Tattoo enthusiasts often claim addiction, but true addiction involves chemical and psychological dependence. Obsessive love for tattoos is not the same as addiction.
