The Art Attack Project
Having recently survived a heart attack, BJ Betts and a few of his friends have teamed up to create artwork that showcases the importance of our most vital organ. Using various combinations of styles, the artists painted their impressions of the human heart over an archaic medical text. These eye-catching images–rich with symbolism and expertly drawn–jump off the page and are a beautifully blend of writing and imagery. Near and dear to Betts’ heart (no pun intended), this project marks a slight change in the calligraphist’s style, putting the focus on imagery, shading and color rather than on words and their meaning.
