Inked and Dangerous
When the workers saw the tattoo on Smith’s lower belly they quickly backed down and called the police—the workers mistook the tattoo of a gun for a the real thing.
While you’re planning out your next tattoo be extra careful when choosing the design; a poorly thought out choice might cause the police to show up at your door. After being woken up by workers cutting a tree outside of his house Michael Smith went outside shirtless to berate them. When the workers saw the tattoo on Smith’s lower belly they quickly backed down and called the police—the workers mistook the tattoo of a gun for a the real thing.
Police responded to the scene in force—Maine State Troopers armed with assault rifles provided back up for the police knocking on Smith’s door—and quickly learned that Smith had not been packing heat but that he had ink of a gun that looked as if it were tucked into the waistband of his pants, according to theWaterville Morning Sentinel.
“Obviously it was a misunderstanding and he didn’t have a weapon, but we had to respond to the initial report as if he did,” Maine State Police Trooper Scott Duff told the Sentinel. “We take all precautions when we don’t have the details.”
After having his rest cut short by the screech of a chainsaw Smith was already having a rough day before the police stormed his residence. Despite all of that he seemed to be taking everything in good humor.
“I got plans today,” Smith told reporters. “I didn’t want to get shot.”
Remember, you may think that tattoo of a knife coming out of your boot looks pretty sick but it may lead to police getting confused and ruining your day.
