50 Badass Bent Back Skull Tattoos

Have you seen this epic tattoo concept?

We’ve seen many of the traditional flash images, such as sparrows, anchors, eagles and roses inked over and over again. And these are all fine and dandy, but sometimes we’re in the mood for something a little more imaginative. Boom: bent back skulls. These tattoos go by a few names in the industry, bent back girls, bend over backwards skulls, etc. but they all follow the same basic premise. A figure (typically a girl) does a back bend and the shape mimics a skull. If you can’t see the skull, allow me to help you along. The head is the nose of the skull, boobs are the eyes, butt is the ear and legs are the jaw/mouth. Do you see it now?

Although a girl and a simple skull are the standard, over the years many tattooers have gone wild with their creativity. We’ve seen it all, bent back skulls resembling movie characters such as Patrick Bateman from “American Psycho” and Doc Brown from “Back to the Future,” as well as pop culture legends like Charlie Chaplin, Frida Kahlo and dozens of the one and only, Mickey Mouse. The opportunities for creativity are seemingly endless and we’re never tired of what these inventive artists come up with next.
