75 Beautiful Berry Tattoos
What's your favorite berry?
With Berries and Cream back in full swing, why not reflect on the former with some epic ink? Berries are small, pulpy and typically edible fruits. There is quite a bit of controversy when it comes to classifying berries, as botany has wildly different definition. In scientific botany, berries are fruits produced by a single flower—including grapes, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, watermelons, bananas and chili peppers.
However, today, we’re ignoring this definition and focusing on the berries we know and love. There are over 400 different species of berries which range widely in size, color and taste. Some of the most commonly consumed berries include strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and cranberries. Other berries of note include boysenberries, elderberries, lingonberries, huckleberries, goji berries and açai berries. These berries can be consumed on their own, but they are often used in jams, cakes, tarts, preserves and pies. In popular culture, we’ve seen berries appear from time to time on screen, notably Strawberry Shortcake and Violet “Blueberry” Beauregarde of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
In honor of the rich history of berries, take a look at 75 delicious tattoos from some of the most talented tattoo artists in the world. Then let us know your favorite type of berry in the comment section on social media.
