Cowabunga! Ravens QB Robert Griffin III Gets a TMNT Leg Sleeve

The Heisman Trophy winner showed he's a true comic book fan with a massive black-and-grey tattoo.

While a quarterback by trade, Robert Griffin III became a star because of his legs. And now he has covered those very famous legs with—in the words of Michelangelo—some bodacious tattoos.

Griffin visited black-and-grey specialist Nic Westfall to get a leg sleeve featuring all of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and also the Marvel superhero Black Panther. According to TMZ, Westfall had previously tattooed the Incredible Hulk and Goku from “Dragonball Z” on his leg.

The tattoos were done in two marathon sessions. Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael were tattooed during a 12-hour session on Saturday, with Griffin only taking a couple breaks to watch the UFC fights and (we hope) have a couple slices of marshmallow and guacamole pizza. Griffin returned the next day for five more hours to have T’Challa added to the back of his leg.

We know that playing in the NFL requires an incredible pain tolerance and toughness, but goddamn, that’s some impressive sitting by RGIII.

Now that one leg is done, we can’t wait to see what Griffin and Westfall can conjure up for the other leg. Let us know what you think of Griffin’s new ink.
