Model Slick Woods Got a Face Tattoo for Nipsey Hussle

Slick Woods is one of the hottest models of the moment, appearing in campaigns and runway shows for Moschino, Calvin Klein, Yeezy and Jeremy Scott. She’s best known for her work with Rihanna’s brands, appearing in the September 2017 campaign for Fenty Beauty and walking the runway for Savage X Fenty just days before giving birth to her son Saphir days later.

Unlike many models working in the industry today, Woods has an extensive tattoo collection. Woods has a number of tattoos on her arms, as well as an AK-47 on her sternum. And just this week, she added to her arsenal of ink in a big way by getting her first face tattoo.

On March 1st, Woods got her face tattooed by Los Angeles artist MeNaCe and paid homage to late rapper Nipsey Hussle.

Nipsey Hussle was a successful rapper from Los Angeles whose debut studio album, “Victory Lap,” gained critical acclaim and earned Hussle a Best Rap Album nomination at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. However, with a promising career ahead of him and a three year old child with Lauren London, Hussle passed away on March 31st, 2019 after being shot outside his clothing store, Marathon Clothing, in South Los Angeles.

In addition to loving music and his family, Hussle had a passion for tattoos. Hussle had a number of large scale pieces, including tattoos on his neck, hands and face. One of his most recognizable face tattoos is the word “Prolific” on his temple. This is the tattoo Woods tried to emulate, getting a similar font in blue ink above her eyebrow.
