19 Clients Come Together For Magical Harry Potter Tattoo Project

You won't believe what happens when you put these tattoos together

Harry Potter is a literary and film phenomenon that continues to impact people both young and old. One of the best ways that self-proclaimed Potterheads show their love for the franchise is through tattoos and for Israeli tattooer Edit Paints, she took her love for Harry Potter tattoos to the next level. Paints decided to band together 19 strangers for an epic Harry Potter tattoo flip book, which brings to life one of the series’ most important magical objects: a Golden Snitch.

The Golden Snitch, also called the Snitch, is one of the balls used in Quidditch, the game witches and wizards play at Hogwarts. In the first film, Harry is scouted by Professor McGonagall to play for the Gryffindor team and he becomes a seeker, a position whose one job is to catch the Snitch. In Harry’s first game, he catches the Snitch in his mouth and nearly swallows it. In the last book, Professor Albus Dumbledore gives Harry that Golden Snitch in his will and later on, Harry discovers that the Snitch held the resurrection stone—which is one of the three Deathly Hallows.

What inspired you to do these tattoos?

I’m a big fan of Harry Potter and I wanted to do a tattoo that would bring multiple people that don’t know each other together in their love for Harry Potter and tattoos.

How did you find people for these tattoos?

I posted on my story that I was looking for people for a special Harry Potter tattoo and after people reached out, I explained my project. Everyone was really excited about the idea.

What significance does Harry Potter have to you?

[Harry Potter] is a repeated concept in my art and tattoos. They’re movies from my childhood that I grew up on and they got me through a lot. It effected my imagination a lot.

Will you do this again with a different design?

I might, but it was super complicated, so that might take a while. But the next one, if it happens, will definitely be “Rick and Morty,” since it’s my favorite modern inspiration.
