Blind YouTuber Lets Her Fans Pick Her Tattoo

Find out why Molly Burke gets tattoos she can't see

Meet Molly Burke, a 25-year-old YouTuber and activist from Ontario, Canada. At the age of four, Burke was diagnoses with a disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa, a rare and degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision impairment. There is currently no cure for RP and Burke went completely blind at the age of 14.

I’m still in disbelief that I actually won the @shortyawards in the Lifestyle category last night! Thank you so much to all the killer bees who voted for me and who have been supporting me throughout the years, it means so much to me! As I said in my speech last night, I think it’s quite ironic that I won lifestyle given I live such a unique lifestyle compared to most on the platform, which is why I’m so passionate about sharing it and educating. However, despite the physical challenges that her vision impairment presents, Burke has found incredible success as a YouTuber. Burke currently has 1.8 million subscribers on her channel and has collaborated with big name content creators, including Shane Dawson, Colleen Ballinger, the Dolan twins, Gabbie Hanna, Joey Graceffa, and Liza Koshy. Her most recent collaboration happened to be with yours truly and we set Burke up with a once in a lifetime tattoo experience.

While visiting NYC for the Creator Summit and the Shorty Awards, we hooked Burke up with a tattoo to commemorate her channel. However, instead of picking the design herself, Burke put out a poll on her Twitter page and allowed her followers to decide her fate.
